Food that Lasts

Jesus said, "Do not work for food that spoils; instead work for food that lasts for eternal life." John 6:27

Poet R. L. Sharpe will never forget this boyhood episode. He and his father wemt to Trussell's blacksmith shop to get a rale amd a hoe repaired.

When Trussell refused to take anything, his father insisted. Trussell's said to my father, "Sid, can't you let a body do something now and then-- just to stretch his soul?"

Why should "a body do some-thing now and then--just to stretch his soul?" Why don't I stretch my soul more often?
